I am a senior Teaching Fellow in the
School of Earth & Environment at the University of Leeds, UK.
Within the School, I am a member of Sustainability
Research Institute (SRI) which is a dedicated team of more than
20 inter-disciplinary researchers working on the different dimensions
of sustainability at the School.
Although I am a Geographer by training, my current research interests
span over three major thematic areas; namely, environmental risks
and sustainability, quality audit for science and environmental
informatics and modelling.
Besides research, I have experience in coordinating and managing
research projects as well as teaching and supervising undergraduate
and postgraduate students (including PhD students) at the School.
I am currentlty responsible for providing teaching at the School,
particularly in the fields of environmental risk management and
environmental impact assessment.
During the course of my employment at the School, I have been involving
in designing teaching programmes such as BA Environment & Risk
Communication, BA Environment & Transport Planning, and BA Environment
& Sustainable Development. I am the programme manager of BA
Environment and Transport Planning and BA
Environment and Transport Planning (International).
Within the School, I am an active member of "SRI Working Paper
working team" and "SRI website working team".
In terms of professional membership, I am a member of the Society
for Risk Analysis (SRA) and Society
for Risk Analysis Europe (SRA-E). I am also a member of the
Education Committee of the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA).
From 2000 to 2005, I coordinated and managed the Centre for Environmental
Management (CEM) at the School too.
