SLIMCAT 3D Model SLIMCAT

Model Results for Winter 2002/2003

This page contains preliminary results from simulations with the SLIMCAT 3D model . Coupled DLAPSE-SLIMCAT microphysical model results are available on the DLAPSE page. The near real time model run forced by ECMWF T42L60 analyses with a horizontal resolution of 2.8 x 2.8 degrees. Here is an animation of ClOx and O3 loss at 475K during winter 2002/03.

SLIMCAT forced by UKMO and ECMWF also successful reproduce the evolution of the Antarctic ozone hole during the sudden warming event of 2002. The animated movie show here .

This work supports The European Union VINTERSOL campaign and is part of the QUILT, QUOBI and TOPOZ III projects.
