SLIMCAT 3D Model SLIMCAT

Model Results for Antarctic 2006

This page contains preliminary results from simulations with the SLIMCAT 3D model chemical transport model. The near real time model run is forced by ECMWF T42L91 operational analyses with a horizontal resolution of 2.8 x 2.8 degrees and 24 levels from the surface to ~60 Km.

This work support is part of the European Union SCOUT-O3 Integerated Project (CTM Activity).

Preliminary Model Results

This page contains recent, preliminary SLIMCAT model results for Arctic winter 2006 . Contact Prof. Martyn Chipperfield and Dr. Wuhu Feng for more details and requests.

Here is an animation of O3 loss (left) and ClOx (right) at ~460K during Antarctic winter 2006. The similar movies of the previous winters simulations are: Antarctic winter 2005 ; Antarctic winter 2004 ; Antarctic winter 2003 and Antarctic winter 2002 (Please ignore the value of temperature in the title).

Here (gif) , (ps) is comparison of time series of averaged chemical ozone loss for Antarctic winters 2002 to 2006.
